Very rare are the reverse, with most the watch in gold, and the small inlays of SS. The 24k gold inlays are quite a technological feat, 2mm thick, pressed or cast into the SS case. Omega never revealed how this was done. He then produced an Omega Seamaster 1/100 Polaris Seoul Olympics 386 that he bought new in 1988. It's complete with box, papers, receipt etc but isn't working. I should have said the lume is astonishing rather than unbelievable in my post above. A small battery powers the f300 Hz tuning fork movement in the Omega. A miniature transductor sets a resonator vibrating at 300 oscillations per second (300 Hz). These oscillations are maintained by an electronic circuit and divided into units of time. As the wrist is turned the resonator is subject to differing strengths of gravitational pull.
